“When you know you’re in your forever home, you start to think about things a little differently,” Danica said. The 49-year old mother of three has recently relocated to Woburn, MA. “When I saw this place, there were many things that made me fall in love with it. Obviously the slate roof was a big draw.”
Danica is passionate about efficiency. “That’s not surprising, considering the work I do,” she said. “But I don’t think anyone wants to spend more money than they have to. When you look at your typical utility bill, that’s just money wasted – you pay so much just to keep the lights on and the kids’ computers going.”
“I thought having a slate roof meant that solar just wasn’t an option for our family,” Danica said. “But then I learned about the Solar Slate Plate.”
The Solar Slate Plate is a new, innovative mounting system that makes installing solar panels on slate roofs quick, simple and affordable. The use of a special mountain jig and proven installation process maintains the integrity, durability and beauty of your slate roof. At the same time, the overall time needed to install the solar panels is cut dramatically – in some cases, by more than half.
“A faster installation time means I wind up spending less money on this project,” Danica explained. “Considering I’m trying to bring our expenses down overall, this just makes sense.”
“I know I’m going to be in this home for the rest of my life,” Danica said. “So I want to do everything I can now to make things easier for myself later. Switching over to solar now is an important step to making our household more self-sufficient. And with three kids headed to college someday, every penny we save now will be very handy later!”
