“I’ve never seen a year like this,” Stephen said. “Of course, I guess everyone else is in the same position I am. Everything’s up in the air, and my priority is to get my family through everything as best we can. Energy security is important to me. I want to be sure our lights don’t go out. That’s why we’re looking into having solar installed on our Burlington home.”
Demand for solar panel installation has been steadily increasing. Even pre-COVID, people in this part of Massachusetts were appreciative of the financial savings associated with going solar. “Sure, there’s some expense involved in having solar panels installed,” Stephen explained. “But you’re paying a light bill anyway. Making this investment now reduces the amount you have to shell out to the utility company and over time that adds up.”
“But what really pushed us over the edge and made us say “Yes, we want to reduce our carbon footprint” is the pictures of the orange sky in the Bay Area. Wild fires happen every year, true, but the impact of climate change is making these disastrous events even worse. We don’t want to contribute to that any more,” Stephen said. “That’s why we’re going solar.”
Burlington Solar Installation on Slate Roofs
Initially Stephen had had some hesitation about solar installation because his Burlington home has a slate roof. “Not everyone works on slate,” he explained. “But I lucked out and found a Burlington solar installer who uses the Solar Slate Plate. That’s the fastest, best way to get solar on a slate roof – compared to the other bids I got for the job, the cost savings made my choice clear!”
If you’ve been thinking about going solar but have been sitting on the fence waiting for the right time, your moment is now.
